The Sheikh Saud Bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani, Secretary General of the Qatari Olympic Committee confirmed the beginning of January last to the Agency "Agence France Presse:" Qatar make bid to host the tournament.
Sheikh Saud said at the time, "we applied to host the World Championships of Athletics (outdoor) in 2017 ".
