Arsenal the football club announced on Tuesday that the Dutch striker Robin van Persie will miss the knockout round second leg Champions League game against Barcelona because of a knee injury.
And Van Persie was injured when he hit the ball and scored the equalizing goal for Arsenal in the match which ended in a 2-1 defeat against Birmingham City in the final of English Carling Cup on Sunday.
Arsenal said that the injury would force Van Persie to stay away from stadiums for three weeks.
Arsenal had won the first leg 2-1 in England before running the second leg in Barcelona on the eighth of March instant.
